Vocal Improvisation performance from the students of my advanced year-long course Wild Voice Solid Roots - Class of 2023-4.
Singers from around the UK & Europe have been gathering in Devon all year for an extended study of vocal improvisation, with Briony Greenhill.
They have been cultivating esqusitness. Honing their musicianship like patient carpenters staying with it until it’s just so. They have been daring to open to free improvisation like dervishes.
For the first time, this co-hort of students on the 2023-4 Wild Voice Solid Roots course, dare to share their improvisations with the public.
It is said that public speaking is the most scary / brave thing. So try public singing. Then try public singing without a song - that is what they will be doing.
We will dress up. Everyone in their own way.
This is it. 17 Singers will share with you the sacred art of standing in the void, listening for the music of now that wants to come through, holding on for dear life, and then giving it their all.
