Briony Greenhill & Asha McCarthy in Concert (Bristol)
24 Gibson Road, Bristol, 1st December Doors @ 7, show 7.30 - 9.30ish…..
What world do I give you, what do I give to the world? What could it be instead?
Come and experience a collaborative performance between Briony Greenhill and Asha McCarthy. This concert will explore the question of “What is to bring a child into this country, culture, world at this time?”
Anthropocene Motherhood
We look forward now to 2110.
This new body of work from folk-soul improvisational artist Briony Greenhill has emerged from the journey into motherhood. Songs of love, conceiving, birth, land reform; how can we re-shape this design to put nature at the centre?
Briony on piano and vocals will be joined by Asha McCarthy improvising on cello. Asha will also play a half hour set in the middle of the concert. Cellist, singer, composer – Asha’s first album Epitah, also about motherhood, was described as “A shining beacon of an album” by Pennyblack Music and “Some of the most beguiling music you’ll hear this year” – Shire Folk.
Her new work is all about the Atlantic ocean.
